GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Northeast Wisconsin Technical College has opened a learning center at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay for students to use as a resource for their higher education needs.

The NWTC Green Bay East learning center provides a space for youth who are interested in applying to NWTC to meet with career coaches and success advisors. Current NWTC students can access a workspace for homework, student support coaches, Wi-Fi and computers.

"What’s also new is all the access to services," said Colleen Simpson, NWTC vice president of student services. "We are providing access to all our students who would come into this location, and the access is anything that you currently do on the other Green Bay campuses, you’ll be able to get services here at this learning center."

The NWTC learning center will offer Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay members, alumni and young adults in the community greater access to post-secondary education, said Lisa Kogan-Praska, chief executive officer of Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay.

The center will also provide increased access for NWTC students who reside on the east side of town, located at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay, 1451 University Ave.

"We don’t have a learning center on the east side of Green Bay, and so this is a great opportunity for us to continue to meet the needs of all our east-siders," Simpson said.
