GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Notre Dame Academy is moving their classes to an online platform following their spring break.

The school says this is a preventative measure to keep their students, faculty, and staff healthy and safe amid coronavirus fears.

“Because Notre Dame Academy was one of the first schools in the area to have Spring Break, and we had a significant percentage of our students returning from travel throughout the United States and the world, we felt the most prudent decision was to move to an Online Learning Platform for the period in time,” Notre Dame Academy Principal Patrick Browne said.

According to the school, faculty will train and plan for using the new teaching platform Monday, with the students beginning to use the system Tuesday.

Notre Dame has suspended all athletic events and practices along with extra-curricular activities effective through March 27.
