New study shows Green Bay is 9th happiest city in America

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Residents of Green Bay are living in the ninth ranked happiest city in America, according to a new study.

The study is from SeniorLiving and ranks the top 20 happiest cities in America with number nine being Green Bay. Only two spots higher, in seventh place, is Madison.

The following factors were considered as they generally contribute to a person’s happiness: income, housing affordability, life expectancy, commute length, suicide rate, crime rate, unemployment, and household size.

According to the study, Green Bay statistics include an average commute time of 20.2 minutes, an unemployment rate of 3.3%, and life expectancy of 79.5 years.

Madison, in comparison, has a slightly longer commute time of 21.7 minutes, a lower unemployment rate of 2.6%, and same life expectancy at 79.5 years.
