GREEN BAY — Wednesday offered a chance to see the new shipyard project in Green Bay.
An open house was held, with the plans for the project shown off. The development is planned for along the Fox River, near the Mason Street Bridge.
Plans call for a kayak launch, lawn, playground, and beer garden.
"Something that's really embracing our river, which a lot of communities don't have, we'll have that really cool shipping container park, which will be a great resource for start-up businesses as well as a great place to find local food, local drink, and a great place for concerts and festivals. Just a great place to hang out," said Matt Buchanan, Green Bay’s Economic Development Specialist.
Designs will be finalized later this year construction is planned to begin in spring of 2020.
