NEENAH (NBC 26) -- Neenah Police Department is modifying its procedures for responding to some calls in wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the department stated in a memo sent to media on Monday.

"To limit officer exposure and out of abundance of caution, we will modify our procedure for responses to calls for service by implementing telephone reporting procedures," the department says.

The department lists the following types of cases for telephone reporting:

· Harassment

· Hit and Run Accidents

· Fraud and Financial Crimes

· Identity Theft

· Disorderly Conduct (non-violent)

· Noise Complaints

· Thefts

· Shoplifting

· Lost/Found Property (shift supervisor’s discretion)

· Threats (after the fact)

· Trespassing (after the fact)

Neenah Police also said it's suspending some services to prevent the spread of illness. These services include:

· Fingerprinting

· Vehicle Lockouts

· Use of Community Room

· Drug drop box

· Police Department Tours

· Presentations by Officers

Neenah Police pointed toward a couple of online resources for people wishing to report a case, including wisconsindot.gov/crashreporting to report smaller car crashes. Open Records requests and Parking Complaints should be sent to police@ci.neenah.wi.us.

This list is not all-inclusive, Neenah Police said, and the intent is to limit exposure for everyone's safety.
