NEENAH (WGBA) -- The Neenah family, who recently visited Wuhan, China say the did not expect the virus to spread as fast. They said once they got out of quarantine, the coast was clear.
"I did not expect this to still be going on," Said Samuel Roth, the husband and father.
The family have been back together for a couple weeks now. None of them are showing symptoms of the virus. When they were in China, Daisy and her children had to stay inside. Most businesses were closed - just like they are now here in the U.S.
"It is similar to what happened in China," Daisy said. "I wouldn't say any country handled it better. The governments are different. China can force 11 million people to stay inside. It is harder to do that here in the U.S."
The only difference for the Roth family is they can't evacuate like they did in China. The disease is here in the U.S. and they have to follow the same rules as everyone else - stay home and use good hygiene.
"Wash your hands," Daisy said. "We tell our daughters that. It is what we should be doing."
Another concern of theirs is the businesses impacted by the virus. In China, they said many people were out of work because everything was shut down. The same is happening here. They hope it passes and everyone can go back to their normal lives. However, they anticipate this going on for a while.
"It might take two to three months," Daisy said.
"We all should stay home and do nothing," Sam said. "Doing nothing is the best way to make sure something doesn't happen."
