GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The coronavirus outbreak has altered life as we know it. It's impacted everyone in some shape or form and that doesn't exclude our local museums that hold several gems and bring thousands to the area every year.
The National Railroad Museum sees more than 100,000 visitors each year and focuses on learning and education. It's tough not to have all of the visuals of the museum, but organizers are getting creative with connecting with fans of the museum.
The National Railroad Museum is working on digital tours to offer to fans of the museum. Education Director, Bob Lettenberger says they hope to have that available by the end of April.
Another way the museum has been helping with the current situation is by partnering with the Howe Community Resource Center. Guests can donate a kit which will be assembled by the museum and then given to the Howe Community Resource Center to distribute to a family in need.
Not operating during this time can be tough, but it can also be difficult on our community non-profits. You can still show your support for the National Railroad Museum and its mission by donating or purchasing a membership now to use later. You can find more information donation on their website.
