SUAMICO, Wis. (NBC 26) -- The N.E.W. Zoological Society has announced a new contest to benefit the N.E.W Zoo. The contest is in partnership with the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and Capital Credit Union.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, several fundraising events have had to be canceled that includes the popular Feast for the Beasts and the Skunks are Beautiful Cribbage Tournament, so to help offset those fundraising efforts, the N.E.W. Zoological Society is asking for your submissions for A Feast (of Art) for the Beasts, the funraising 2021 calendar.
All entries must portray a species or animal from the NEW Zoo. Submissions can be made electronically or through the mail. Entries are due by August 15, if mailed, they must be postmarked by August 15. There is a $10 entry fee which will go towards the printing of the calendars.
Artwork must be landscape format, with electronic images no lower than 300dpi and mailed-in artwork no smaller than 8 ½ inches by 11 inches.
There will be 12 winners selected and notified by August 30. Eleven winners will receive four Day Pass admission tickets to the NEW Zoo for 2 adults and 2 children. One winner whose entry will be featured on the cover of the calendar will receive a Family Plus Zoo Membership.
The fundraising “raffle calendars” are expected to be ready for purchase in October. Everyone who buys a calendar will be entered into a monthly drawing to win $500, with drawings taking place on the third Monday of each month, January through December 2021.
Calendars will be available for purchase at a variety of locations throughout Northeastern Wisconsin, including at the NEW Zoo.
