GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — African Heritage, Inc. has partnered with the YWCA Greater Green Bay, Prevea Health and We All Rise African American Resource Center for a Mother's Day Appreciation and Mobile Vaccination Celebration from Noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8 at the YWCA, 320 S Madison Ave., Green Bay.
The event is part of Get the Shot L.I.V.E. campaign to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Black communities, said Dr. Sabria Robins, Board Member and Committee Co-Chair for African Heritage Inc.
"Our Get the Shot, L.I.V.E. campaign is focused on reaching all members of the Black community within Northeast Wisconsin for the purpose of stopping the spread and saving lives," Robins said. "We welcome the opportunity to partner with organizations and community leaders that can join in our efforts to increase access to obtaining the vaccination."
Saturday's program, which will be following all CDC guidelines, includes:
❏ On-site Vaccination Clinic: Community members will have the opportunity to get the vaccine provided by Prevea Health at the YWCA Greater Green Bay.
❏ Free Mother's Day Lunch provided in the YWCA's Parking Lot, 320 S Madison Ave.
❏ Free Mother's Day Gifts for anyone in attendance.
❏ Music & Entertainment including DJ Bwoop and M.A.D.D. Rhythms of Chicago.
❏ Community influencers will make an appearance to support community members.
