More spaces are open at Appleton parks, including playground equipment, tennis courts, basketball courts, pickleball courts, athletic fields and the skateboard park. Trails remain open.

Visitors who spoke with NBC 26 on Wednesday were excited to be there in the beautiful weather.

"The first thing we did was sit down and ate at the table and enjoy the outside,” said Terry Piker at Appleton Memorial Park. “When they got over here, a couple of my kids ran to the slides, and the rest of them were just running around glad to be free. They didn't even know which certain thing to run to first and play with."

Effective Thursday, the restrooms and pavilions at the City of Appleton’s parks will reopen. More information will be released soon regarding the status of pools and recreational programming.
