APPLETON (NBC 26) — Music is once again in the air across downtown Appleton.
The 8th annual Mile of Music festival has begun.
This year's event features roughly 900 live music sets, 70 venues, and a couple changes due to COVID-19.
Mile of Music is recommending, but not requiring, that face coverings be worn at indoor venues at Mile 8. Some venues do require masks to enter.
However, the festival has shifted several venues outside to help reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. Mile of Music also encourages all festival-goers to pre-plan their visit to help find a series of shows or a music experience they are most comfortable with, whether it be attending strictly outdoor venues, opting to wear a face covering for indoor venues, or attending a face-covering-required venue like the Lawrence Memorial Chapel for a series of shows.
