MENASHA (NBC 26) -- A man identified as a Menasha substitute teacher is accused of sexually assaulting two elementary school students.

Alex Patterson faces two counts of first degree child sex assault and three counts of child enticement with sexual contact.

A criminal complaint filed Tuesday accuses Patterson of assaulting one child on at least two different occasions. The complaint said Patterson assaulted the child with his hand. On one occasion, the criminal complaint said Patterson tried to use a massager on the victim. The criminal complaint said these assaults happened in a bathroom attached to a classroom in Clovis Grove Elementary School.

Court documents also accuse Patterson of touching another child. The document says Patterson claimed he was helping the child with her belt.

In court Tuesday, Patterson was ordered to stay away from school campuses and to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 23. Patterson's bond was set at $100,000.

The child enticement charge has a possible sentence of up to 25 years in prison. The charge of first degree child sex assault carries a possible sentence of up to 60 years behind bars.
