DE PERE, Wis. (NBC 26) -- People are taking advantage of being able to fish amid the Safer at Home order.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, state parks and trails are still open for public use with some limitations. Fishing is also still allowed.

At Voyager Park, people were fishing both from boats and on shore. Boats were scattered and people on shore were fishing with space between themselves and others. One fisherman said it's a great way to get out of the house for a bit and enjoy the outdoors.

"I'm glad I can fish still. Not the worst thing in the world," said Hunter Levanetz.
