Manitowoc police searching for dog and its owner following biting incident

MANITOWOC, Wis. (NBC 26) — Manitowoc police say they are looking for a dog and its owner following a biting incident Tuesday afternoon at Citizen Park.

Police say a mother noticed a dog charging towards her and her daughter coming from the area of the baseball diamonds.

The mother shielded her daughter from the dog running towards them, which then bit the mother in the right hand requiring medical attention, according to police.

Authorities say the dog then fled towards Evergreen Cemetery.

The dog is being described as adult-sized, tan Pit Bull, white on its face with no collar.

Police say the vaccination status of the dog is unknown.
