CARLTON, Wis. — Around 7 p.m. Thursday evening, the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department was called to a home in the town of Carlton for reports of a man involved in an accident with a UTV.
The caller said the man was trapped under the UTV and not breathing. On scene, police determined the 76-year-old man had been using the UTV on a trail near the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, when the UTV went off a ledge and rolled on top of him.
First responders retrieved the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. The operator of the UTV has been identified as 76-year-old Wayne Paral of Kewaunee.
The incident is under investigation.
