GRAND CHUTE (NBC 26) — A 33-year-old Oshkosh man has been charged in connection to a vehicle shooting on I-41 in Outagamie County.
Investigators say it happened around 7:15 a.m. on February 18th in the northbound lanes of I-41 north of Prospect and near College Avenue. The victim said she pulled in front of a car to get over to her exit and heard what she described as "tink, tink, tink".
According to a recently filed criminal complaint, investigators found more than a dozen holes in her car. She was able to describe the other car as a bronze car, with no license plates, and blackened-out windows. Police were able to track down the car using traffic cams.
After finding the car, police questioned the suspect, asking why he didn't have license plates on his car. The criminal complaint said the suspect used a remote to open a retracting cover, which then revealed the plates.
After getting a warrant, the criminal complaint said police recovered what they described as an "AK-47-style black BB rifle" from the suspect’s car (pictured above). Travis Tarver was arrested and has been charged with a felony for recklessly endangering safety, using a dangerous weapon, and possession of marijuana.
