APPLETON (WGBA) -- The League of Women Voters in Northeast Wisconsin are doing what they can to help people register to vote in 2020.
"People want to make a difference," said Jackie Klimaszewski, from the League. "It is very basic to our whole democracy."
Wisconsin is a key battle ground state. President Trump won the the state in 2016 by fewer than 23,000 votes. Governor Tony Evers won by a narrow margin in 2018.
"It is up to us to elect the right people." said Karen Johnson, who registered to vote Tuesday night at the first session. "It is very easy. It is just a few questions you answer."
The League highlighted four key election dates in 2020. It starts with the primary in February and leads up to the presidential election in November. They advise people check their registration before then.
"it is your voice," Klimaszewski said. "People die for this right."
