A local veteran is being honored for his service in a unique way with a new roof.
Phillip Opalewski, a navy veteran from Fond Du Lac, was selected as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.
Security-Luebke Roofing began construction on the project Monday. Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 200 military members have received new roofs.
