MANITOWOC (NBC 26) -- A local man's dying wish was granted on the red carpet.
Danny Kochan of Kellnersville is living with the genetic disease of Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a rare genetic disease that attacks children, causing progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems and a high rate of cancer.
Kochan is also a huge fan of Marvel Comics.
His dying wish is to see one last movie in the theater. Monday, his hospice team helped make it happen. Kochan and his family were treated to a private showing of "The New Mutants" based on the Marvel comic series.
"When they first showed up with a limousine at my house, I thought I was just going for a ride and that was it, but when I got in with all the people and came here and did the red carpet, I was not expecting that," Kochan said. "Thank you all for doing this, and for showing up here for just me. Thank you all."
