GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Everyone's buzzing about the Olympics, especially Team USA's gymnasts.

"I think it's just so exciting to watch," said Jennie Beyer, owner of Air Force Gymnastics in Green Bay. "It's just amazing what these athletes can do. They're flying high, they're twisting, they're flipping, they're really pushing the boundaries of athletics, and I think everyone is just captivated by their hard work and their amazing power."

For local gyms, the Olympic Games can lead to higher enrollment in programs.

"The Olympic year is always a really exciting and high enrollment time for us," said Beyer. "The Olympics are very inspiring to watch. The kids always see things on TV, and they just dream really big dreams and think about all the great things they could accomplish, and also it just looks really fun."

Beyer says she's excited to watch everyone on Team USA, but there's one female gymnast in particular.

"I think everybody is excited to watch Simone," she said. "She is one of the greatest athletes of all time, she is creating new skills year after year and really pushing the boundaries of human ability. But we also have some really amazing athletes from right here in our region, we have Minnesota athletes Suni and Grace and also Shane Wiskus. So we're really excited to watch them as well."

The young gymnasts at Air Force are most looking forward to watching a different gymnast.

"I really like watching Suni Lee because her bars are really good," said Kendall Christiansen. "And Grace, just because I've seen her compete at one of the meets that we go to."

"Probably Suni Lee," said Ava Kasprzycki. "She has amazing bars and is like, one of the best gymnasts I've seen compete."

You can watch the NBC Olympic Games on NBC 26 from July 23rd to August 8th.
