GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- First responders at the Green Bay Metro Fire Department (GBMFD) are urgently asking community members with extras of specific supplies to donate to them in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
The GBMFD says there is a national shortage of personal protective equipment that helps make first responders safe. They are asking people with an abundance of the following items on hand, to please consider donating to them:
- N95 masks (if you don't know what N95 is, then you don't have any)
- Disposable surgical gowns or covers
- Disinfectant for ambulance decontamination
- Disinfectant wipes
- Hand sanitizer
The equipment listed helps GBMFD paramedics and EMTs stay safe while responding to calls during the pandemic. Help the Department keep ambulances in service and safe for both the staff and community members in need of assistance.
If you have access or have an abundance of these items and are willing to part with some, please contact Captain Thompson by calling (920) 448-3275 or through email at joeth@greenbaywi.gov.
