KAUKAUNA (NBC 26) — The Kaukauna Fire Department has been able to purchase new life-saving devices, thanks to a couple of major donations.

BayCare Clinic said it and Aurora BayCare Medical Center donated a combined $10,000 to the fire department for the purchase of a LUCAS device. Additionally, BayCare Clinic said the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation awarded a grant for $14,425 to purchase a second LUCAS device.

A LUCAS device provides automated chest compressions to sudden cardiac arrest patients. BayCare Clinic said these two devices are a first for the Kaukauna Fire Department.

BayCare also says the devices will positively impact life-saving efforts in Kaukauna and surrounding areas.
