GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Leo Frigo Bridge is now open for travel after a safety inspection found no structural issues, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region.

Green Bay Police shut down both north and southbound lanes of the I-43 Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge around 4:30 p.m. after receiving a complaint of a suspicious bump at the crest of the bridge in the southbound lane.

A WisDOT bridge engineer inspected the pavement and found no issues after a preliminary review. A second engineer followed up with a more extensive review of the location and structure and found no safety problems on the pavement or structure itself. Officials said the bridge is safe for travel.
