*UPDATE* Man in custody after large police presence in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. (NBC 26) -- UPDATE: Oshkosh Police say a man is in custody after an incident that shut down an area of the city's east side Wednesday evening.

According to Oshkosh Police, officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of School Avenue for reports of a man causing severe damage to the property and was armed with a hammer.

Oshkosh Police Department's SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiations Team responded to the scene.

A 46-year-old man was taken into custody. No one was injured.

A large police presence has been reported in the 600 block of School Avenue in Oshkosh.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, they are currently investigating an incident and are asking the public to please avoid the area.
