GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Lambeau Field isn't hosting many fans this year, but it’s now hosting a whole lot of food.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin delivered 24 pallets of food to Lambeau on Monday. It will go into cold storage and later to people in need. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin said it was looking for unique storage options that wouldn’t require additional funding.
"This year is unique in many ways. One of the unique things is without games happening with an audience at the stadium, there's an opportunity for us to store our product here because that space isn't being used." Lisa Endl of Feeding America Northeast Wisconsin.
Officials say they are distributing 83% more food right now than a year ago.
