GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Kwik Trip is dealing with a limited supply of its coffee cups, prompting the gas station chain to ask customers to bring their own cups.

In a humorous Facebook post published Friday, Kwik Trip said it's "out of coffee cups."

To be clear, the chain isn't completely out of coffee cups. Kwik Trip's Director of Public Relations, John McHugh, said the store is dealing with a limited supply of its brown Karuba coffee cups. McHugh said the problem is tied to the overall supply chain issues that have plagued other industries for months.

Kwik Trip's humorous Facebook post also said that an unnamed gas station "stole" the supply of cups, but McHugh clarified that the "stealing" allegation made in the post was just a joke. No one actually "stole" the cups.

The good news is Kwik Trip says customers can temporarily get any size refill for just 99 cents. Kwik Trip provided a funny list of options that people can use as alternatives to bringing their own cups, including work boots and a dog dish. But it might be a better idea to just bring something more reasonably-sized.

Kwik Trip employs more than 32,000 employees across Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
