MILWAUKEE, Wis. (NBC 26) — There was no shortage of burgers, brats or postseason tailgating outside of American Family Field.
Amid 70-degree weather on Friday afternoon, fans were excited to root for the Brewers in the team's first home playoff game since 2018.
"[I'm] tailgating with great friends," Germantown-based fan Deb Bastian said. "It's an awesome day. It's beautiful. We were afraid of the rain, but it turned out to be a beautiful day."
The parking lots outside of the stadium opened at noon.
But Bob Sobralske left De Pere at 8 a.m. to get a good spot.
"I shed my Packer clothes just for today to wear my Brewer regalia, and come down and support my Brewers," Sobralske said.
Josh Fischer left Oshkosh at 7 a.m.
He says Brewers tailgates are for everyone, even his friend from out of town.
"We have a fan here who flew up from North Carolina, came with me today," Fischer said. "He's a Braves fan. Everyone here welcomes him."
Many came to root the team on in its path to a first World Series title.
"The most fun part about this is just being in an atmosphere of people that are so excited about the Brewers making it this far," Anna Konkel said about arriving from Lake Geneva.
And those fans all attended with one common goal in mind.
"We want to see them clinch this too," Konkel said.
"Just win, baby," Sobralske said.
