BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Brown County health authorities are reminding the public to stay away from yard and rummage sales for now.
As more people engage in spring cleaning of their homes, this is usually the time when rummage and yard sales begin. But this year, health authorities say that yard, rummage and garage sales are prohibited under the governor's "Safer At Home" order.
According to a news release from Brown County Public Health, under article No. 3 of Governor Evers’ Safer at Home Order, “All public and private gatherings of any number of people that are not part of a single household or living unit are prohibited.” This includes open sale events either from a household or in an organized community center.
Health authorities also say yard sales don't meet social distancing guidelines.
