The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County has more love to give after flying in a planeload of more than 50 dogs on Sunday.

The dogs were rescued from an over-crowded shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. Many of them are already up for adoption, and more will become available throughout the week as HAWS works to spay and neuter, and perform any needed veterinary treatment to the animals.

“These transports assist our shelter partners,” said transport coordinator Jessica Pinkos of HAWS. “But they also bring more wonderful pets to Waukesha County, where so many homes and families are ready and looking to adopt.”

HAWS is open for regular viewing hours all week, except Thanksgiving. Anyone interested in adopting can go online or call HAWS' adoption team at 262-542-8851.

To view all of the adoptable animals at HAWS visit the Pet Showcase.
