GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Children’s Museum of Green Bay is incorporating fun with learning this Halloween season. This year the museum launched Seven Days of Halloween - a week-long event with family-friendly activities that are open to the public.

“Halloween is so key for children’s child development. It expands their imagination so we totally want to have fun with that,” said the museum's event specialist Heather Heil.

After having a high turnout at Halloween events in the past, Heil says the museum decided to dedicate an entire week to putting on Halloween events for families.

“Once they buy these costumes they want to get their use out of them and they want to do something where they’re learning and having fun and something they can do together," Heil said.

Thursday the museum celebrated with a Halloween version of the museum's music class Wiggle, Move and Giggle.

“It was a Halloween theme where children were invited to come, wiggle, sing, dance, and learn movement and music all while being in a Halloween costume,” Heil said.

The Halloween-themed activities give children hands-on learning experience, such as the museum’s science workshops called "wicked workshops."

“With our wicked workshops, they come in and we’re using science bubbles and we’re making potions. Again, that mixing and the solids, liquids, gasses, all of those fun things come in to play,” Heil said.

The wicked workshops will take place on Friday. Saturday, the museum will have a "mask-erade" fundraiser for adults at Badger State Brewing Company. Sunday at the museum will be dedicated to learning about the Day of the Dead.

“They can come in and work with sugar skulls and learn more about what that holiday is about,” Heil said.
