GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Green Bay’s Saturday Farmers Market officially kicked off this weekend for their 104th season.
Over 75 local vendors lined up the streets, safely-distanced from one another.
People were able to pick up fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheese, flowers, plants, and handcrafted goods.
For Cheryl's business, she said they had a successful first Saturday.
She and her partner Kathy own “The Farm Near The Falls” in Oconto Falls and this weekend they brought 32 different kinds of herbs to sell at the market.
“There’s 18 in a flat and every rack had three all the way to the top, all the way as far back as you can go and we are going back pretty much empty. What we have here, that’s it,” Cheryl said.
They said their truck was loaded from top to bottom that by the end of the market, they only had a few left.
She goes on to share that she spoke with several other vendors who seemed to have great success as well.
“Every vendor that I talk to said they had a good day and that’s lots of smiles,” Kathy said.
The market went by CDC’s latest guidelines which said those who have been fully vaccinated can resume activities without wearing a mask. Those who were not vaccinated were advised to wear a mask.
According to Green Bay’s city ordinance, it prohibits dogs and other pets at special events. Smoking is also prohibited within the farmers market.
