GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay is closing North Webster Avenue until May, the city's public works says in a news release Monday.

Public Works cites the "deteriorating condition" of the pavement from the large-scale utility repairs completed over the winter as the reason for the closure. The affected roadway is from University Avenue to Klaus Street.

Side streets and alleyways along this segment will also be closed, Public Works says.

According to a news release, the closure is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th and will remain in place until the WisDOT roadway contractor establishes temporary traffic control for the N Webster Ave reconstruction project around May 1.

A detour route will be established along University Avenue, North Quincy Street, and Klaus Street.
