GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — A local high school junior has received the perfect score on an ACT exam, Green Bay Southwest High School announced Sunday.
Green Bay Southwest High School Junior Grace Zhang has earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT, school officials said.
According to the website Best Colleges, getting a perfect ACT score is rare. The number of students in 2020 who scored a full 36 was 5,579 out of over 1.6 million — or about 0.33% of test-takers.
At Southwest, school officials said Grace is involved in the National Honor Society, DECA, Honors Orchestra, math team, science academic team, cross country, and HOSA. Outside of school, she's Principal Cellist for the Green Bay Youth Symphony.
This summer, school officials said Grace plans to continue her studies and stay involved with the Wisconsin School Music Association State Honors Orchestra, Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, and the Summer Science Program.
After high school, Grace plans to attend college to major in math and eventually go to medical school.
