GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Starting next week, leaders at the Green Bay Area Public School District will require all staff who can work off-site to do so.
This includes principals, teachers and school secretaries. Essential staff, such as food service and custodians, can remain in the buildings.
This move, starting next Monday, is due to the high rate of COVID-19 community spread in the greater Green Bay area, the school district says.
“For the next two weeks, at minimum, all on-site educational services will once again need to be provided virtually. This includes all special education services, face-to-face instruction and any athletic activities that have been on-site,” the school district said in a statement.
Green Bay schools had been in virtual learning since the start of the school year. The city is now listed by the NY Times as being the third worst COVID-19 outbreak area in the nation.
