Green Bay Police trying to identify dog showing signs of rabies

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — UPDATE: Green Bay Police issued a clarification of their earlier news release regarding the dog:

"The dog has been transferred to a veterinarian clinic for further testing. The animal is currently alive and being monitored for the next 12-24 hours to provide supportive care and to monitor the dog's condition overnight. Since the animal is exhibiting signs of rabies, we are working with public health to ensure the safety of everyone. Also, we are seeking info on the owner to understand the history of the dog."

PREVIOUS: Green Bay Police are searching for the owner of a dog who appears to be showing signs of rabies. Police are also looking to identify anyone who may have been exposed to the dog.

Police said a red/white adult male Pitbull Terrier mix was captured and is currently being tested.
