Green Bay shooting suspect arrested in Chicago

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — UPDATE: Stephon Keith Young was taken into custody in Chicago on May 7, according to a Green Bay Police Department press release.

Police are working with law enforcement authorities in Chicago to begin the extradition process back to Green Bay.

The Green Bay Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Stephon Keith Young, 25, for first degree reckless injury.

Young is suspected of firing a handgun at the occupants of a vehicle at the BP gas station, 612 S. Military Ave., Green Bay, at about 7:30 p.m. May 4.

Young's current whereabouts are not known, but according to police he has ties to the Appleton and Chicago areas and is believed he likes to stay at local hotels. There is no known vehicle associated with Young.

Young is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds. He has a large tattoo on his neck. There is a active warrant for Young's arrest. The weapon involved in the shooting has not been recovered and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. If he is spotted, police say to call 9-1-1 immediately.
