Green Bay Metro to reopen transit service for essential travel

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The Green Bay Metro Bus service will reopen for essential travel on Monday, March 23rd with free fares.

The company posted on its Facebook page that they would reopen, but ask that people stay home if ill and only use the bus if absolutely necessary.

All buses will run at the same time including route 11. The public lobby will remain closed. The bus capacity will be monitored and additional buses will be used if needed.

Green Bay Metro Transit adds that paratransit eligible clients will need to continue to call 920-448-3185 to schedule rides.

All riders are asked to obey the following expectations:

-Essential trips only
-Stay home if ill
-6 passengers limits per bus
-1 ADA passenger per bus using the Quantum device
-Rear door entry only (unless using a mobility device)
-Do not approach the Operator - Stay behind the tape
-Use social distancing guidelines

Routes 5, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 18 will be provided by Demand Service only. If you need a ride for these routes you must call two hours in advance to 448-3450, Option 1, Option 1 again. Please be prepared to inform us of the bus stop you are requesting pickup from and the time.

8-Green 6:45am – 6:45pm Hourly
11-Sky 6:45am – 6:45pm Hourly
12-Coal 6:45am – 6:15pm Hourly
13-River 7:15am – 6:45pm Hourly*
14-Brown 7:15am – 6:45pm Hourly*

Routes 5, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18 are on demand only. To request, you must call 920-448-3450 at least 2 hours in advance, option 1 and then option 1 again.
