GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — After holding back due to the pandemic, the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity's annual Women's Build event returned to Green Bay this week.
Tuesday’s event was all about women empowering women, especially in construction and homeownership.
“Last year we had to slow down our construction process because we weren't able to bring volunteers out to the building site, so we actually only built four houses. This year, we're building nine houses, so we're back on track and we're really excited, and you can tell people are really anxious to get back out and help others in the community," said Jessica Diederich, the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity CEO.
Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity builds new homes in Brown County and sells them to qualified recipients at a zero percent interest mortgage.
