ALLOUEZ (NBC 26) — Reports obtained from the Department of Corrections reveal hundreds of instances where inmates assaulted staff inside Green Bay Correctional Institution.
The reports we received began in June 2016 and ended in May 2019. Many were cases of inmates spitting on staff, but some were far more serious and involved injuries to officers.
The report below describes two inmates getting into a fight with the hope that it would let them transfer to a different facility. Staff were injured trying to break it up, and one inmate had prison time added to his sentence for actions against an officer.
