GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is asking for donations after taking in 30 beagles.
WHS said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that more than 30 dogs and puppies were transferred to WHS by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). The dogs were relinquished by a facility that breeds animals for animal testing.
According to WHS, the beagles were living in confined, unsanitary conditions likely with little socialization with humans. Some of the dogs have already been adopted, but WHS said some of the other dogs are still in foster care. Some of the beagles will need special medical treatment and extra socialization to help them gain confidence.
The Wisconsin Humane Society is asking for donations to help the organization care for the beagles. Additionally, anyone interested in adopting the pups can check the Wisconsin Humane Society's website.
