GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The pandemic continues to impact air travel with labor shortages causing flights to be canceled or delayed.
On Monday, at Green Bay's Austin Straubel International Airport, the vast majority of flights were on time but some connecting flights were a different story.
"We've been pretty fortunate here at Green Bay in that we haven't seen a lot of cancellations. Really what we see more than anything are weather delays. Kind of the story that we tell people though is to make sure that you're checking your flight status and your connecting flight, cause really the bigger impact is going to be at the bigger airports where you connect," said Marty Piette, Airport Director at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.
Nationwide, airlines canceled more than 5,000 flights over the weekend.
