GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The Greater Green Bay Chamber has unveiled a new grant program to help small businesses get the funds they need to get through the coronavirus pandemic.

The 'Greater Green Bay Back to Business Grant' will give eligible companies up to $10,000.

To be eligible, a small business must have less than 50 employees, been in operations for more than two years, have a presence in Brown County, and be able to demonstrate a loss of income as a result of the outbreak.

In addition, the grant is aimed at helping businesses who aren't getting financial relief from federal programs like the Paycheck Protection Program.

The grant fund has been started with a $200,000 investment from American Foods Group, and chamber leaders said additional corporate partners are also involved.

"The goal is to help out small businesses, get capital in their hands to either keep their doors open or to reopen their doors," the chamber's Kelly Armstrong said. "We call it the back to business grant because we want the businesses to be able to get back to business."

Eligible businesses need to apply by 11:59 pm on May 7.
