GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Gov. Tony Evers joined in Tuesday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Discover Green Bay Visitor Center in Green Bay.
Leaders hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking event to commemorate the beginning of construction activities on the new Victors Center located adjacent to Cabela’s on the corner of Lombardi Ave. and Argonne Drive.
Local and state leaders including Governor Tony Evers, Oneida Nation Chairman Tehassi Hill, and Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach, who addressed the audience and media at the event.
According to Discover Green Bay, the new visitor center is supported by many community-wide donors who are passionate about growing tourism and the economic impact it has on Northeast Wisconsin. This includes a $2.5 million tourism infrastructure grant from the State of Wisconsin.
