APPLETON (NBC 26) — A GoFundMe page is raising funds to support the family of a man who died a week ago at Thilmany Paper Mill.

According to an obituary, Aaron M. Hobart died on August 16 from "an accident at his workplace."

Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently investigating the incident. OSHA told NBC 26 that the investigation could take up to six months and did not release any other information.

Hobart's obituary said he worked as a laborer in the boiler department at Ahlstrom-Munksjo Paper Company in Kaukauna. Thilmany Paper Mill is owned by Ahlstrom-Munksjo, a company based in Finland.

Hobart leaves behind a wife and son. The GoFundMe page said Hobart's son is two years old. More than $8,700 had been raised on the GoFundMe page as of Tuesday morning.

The family issued a statement to NBC 26:

“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for our family. We’d like to thank the members of the community who have reached out to express their condolences, as well as those who have generously contributed to the GoFundMe campaign.”
