GREEN BAY, WIs. (NBC 26) -- Nearly 5 hours after Give BIG Green Bay officially began, more than half a million dollars in donations was raised.
More than one thousand people have already donated to the 40 local nonprofits.
As of 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter, The Micah Center and Wellspring was at the top of the leaderboard for money raised at more than $27 thousand. The Service League of Green Bay, Inc. had the most donors at 138 and raised more than $8 thousand.
This is a 24 hour online event, so people have until noon Wednesday to donate.
