(NBC 26) — Looking for a little Friday night music? ElkhartCares is hosting a free online concert October 1.
The concert is a benefit to help support families within the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah district area.
“Last year was the first year we hosted this virtual benefit concert and we were blown away at the community’s support,” explained ElkhartCares founder and president, Deborah Blain. “We are so thankful for the generosity of those who support this community. We’re hoping to be able to raise funds again this year so that we can continue our supportive work in the community.”
Here's a look at tonight's lineup:
- Chanteuse Nina Herzog (Voice of The Swan Princess for Sony Animation & Executive Director of ElkhartCares) singing new musical arrangements of favorite throwback songs
- Drummer Jonathan Pinson (Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington)
- Pianist Jack Lipson (music director and arranger)
- Bass guitarist Benny Lipson (Herbie Hancock, Barry Manilow, Idina Menzel)
- Special guest and legendary trumpeter Tony Guerrero (Paul McCartney, Tom Scott).
Donations from the event will support the nonprofit's effort to provide basic living needs assistance, local educational scholarships (for things like college credits for high schoolers/music lessons/extra-curricular help), or continued education for adults and tutoring for kids.
