APPLETON (NBC 26) — Saturday morning kicked off the return of the annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
This event is held in more than 600 communities nationwide every year and is considered the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support, and research.
This weekend event took place at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
NBC 26's very own anchor Nina Sparano was the emcee for the event.
Below are some more pictures from the walk:
“We really get a mix of people who are walking. We have different flowers that actually represents reasons that people walk. So we have our blue flower for anyone who has actually been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia. We have our yellow flower who is anyone who is a caregiver for Alzheimer’s or dementia. Our orange flower is anyone who is an advocate who wants to join the fight to see the end for Alzheimer’s and dementia. We also have our purple flower and that’s for anyone who has a lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s or dementia,” said Cari Josephson, the walk director for the Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter.
