APPLETON (NBC 26) — The Fox Valley Hmong community celebrated the Hmong New Year Saturday with special activities for children.

The Long Cheng Marletplace in Appleton hosted a celebration, where kids came all dressed in traditional Hmong clothing.

Appleton Police officers read and gave out free books, kids did craft projects and played games and Hmong dancers performed. The afternoon ended with a pageant presentation.
