FOND DU LAC (NBC 26) -- A 33-year-old man is in police custody after what authorities called a high risk, search/arrest warrant in Fond du Lac on Tuesday morning.
Fond du Lac Police said the arrest warrant was in regards to a vehicle arson that happened August 16. Police said the suspect was also wanted for substantial battery.
Additionally, police said the man had a violent criminal history and was believed to have a gun. Police said the suspect was taken into custody and no one was hurt.
The Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT was involved in the arrest, as well as Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office.
Earlier in the morning, Fond du Lac Police said there was a "tactical situation" on the 100 block of Ellis St. People living in that area were asked to shelter in place. Later, police said the incident was peacefully resolved.
