FOND DU LAC COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Campgrounds in Fond du Lac County will reopen, with some restrictions, after a previous shutdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.
In a news release issued Friday, Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller announced Fond du Lac County Health Order #3 regarding campgrounds shall be rescinded effective April 24.
Campgrounds will be allowed to open as long as they follow restrictions laid out in the new order that extends Safer At Home. The order is available here.
Campers are asked to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Maintain social distancing of 6 feet at all times.
- Prohibit the use of buildings or public spaces that would encourage social gatherings of any number of people.
- Limit all campsites to members of a single household or living unit. All other private gatherings of any number of people are prohibited.
- Increase the cleaning frequency of shared toilet facilities, laundry facilities and shower buildings.
This Health Order will remain in effect as long as the Wisconsin Governor’s Safer at Home order #28 is in effect, Fond du Lac health officials say.
